AirBerlin has two different promotions currently running which can get you 1,500 Miles free and another 3,000 for free if you have Platinum Starwood Preferred Guest status.
The first 1,500 is given 1,000 for signing up for their TopBonus program (the name of their frequent flyer program) and then 500 more for signing up for their email newsletter. For some reason it was a little tricky for me to get signed up and I had to hit the check boxes in the following 1, 2, 3 order on the registration screen.
They will then display a screen with your new TopBonus account number! Take that number and put it in your AwardWallet account for easy reference. They will send you an email confirmation link that you will have to click on to get the full 1500 miles.
The next step is to sign up for the promotion for up to 3,000 bonus miles by clicking on this link. You will have to be logged into the TopBonus account you just created then sign up for the promotion via that link.
Then log into your SPG Platinum account and make 3 separate 1 point transfers to your new AirBerlin TopBonus account. This should qualify as the 3 different partner transactions for the promotion. If you don’t have SPG Platinum status, the minimum transfer requirement is 1500 points so it probably won’t be worth it. They do have over 120 transfer partners so you could get the partner bonus miles by crediting a hotel stay or buying magazines or many other ways listed on this page.
So if all goes well you should end up with 4503 TopBonus miles! This by itself isn’t enough to do anything fun, but free miles is free miles. Hat tip to the great LoyaltyLobby page for the heads up on these offers!
