Chase United Explorer 50K Mile offer!

United Explorer 50KEdit 10/26/14: The public offer of 50K has expired but you may still be able to get it!  The trick is you need to log into your United MileagePlus account FIRST and then click on the above banner to see your signup offer.  Let us know in the comments if this works for you!

The Chase United Explorer 50K Visa has been on our Top Credit Cards page for a long time and while there were targeted sign up bonuses for some accounts, the standard sign up bonus was 30,000 miles.  They have updated their page to reflect that anyone can now get the 50,000 Mile offer after spending $2000 in the first 3 months of having the card.  The annual fee is waived for the first year and then $95 afterwards.

Looking at United’s Award Chart from North America, 50K will go a long way:  You can go to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean for 35K, Hawaii for 45K, Northern South America for 40K, and Southern South America and Europe for 60K! Or you can save up your miles and redeem for business or first class flights like I did when I flew to Europe with my Dad last year in Lufthansa First Class for only $137.Lufthansa First Class

The card has a number of other benefits such as:

United Miles aren’t as valuable as they used to be since they devalued their program back in February, but if you are flying in coach or on United flights in Business then their rates are still attractive.  This card also makes sense if you are located in a United Hub city or fly United a lot due to the club passes and the 2X miles on United spend.  The increased sign up offer is only available until September 2, so you think this card is right for you, then I would Apply Soon.
